The Assistant Controller will be responsible for special projects which will include ad hoc reporting, budgeting, research of accounting issues, and working with other departments on accounting related issues. Other responsibilities include: monthly closing duties, regulatory reporting, asset/liability modeling, SEC reporting, reconciliations of assigned accounts, creation of ad hoc management reports
Incumbent will perform a variety of tasks related to SEC reporting. This will include obtaining financial information required to be included within the 10K and 10Q and preparation of assigned tables within the 10K and 10Q.
The assistant controller will assist in preparing monthly Board of Director's report. As well as, preparing the quarterly regulatory reports (TFR and CMR) required by the Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS). These reports are extremely detailed and complex and require extensive knowledge of the bank's reporting capabilities in order to be able to obtain all the necessary information in the correct format. Will also be responsible for month-end close including miscellaneous accruals, analysis of material variances, tax provision, and consolidating entries. Will need to maintain a working knowledge of all laws and regulations related to the job, which ensures that all duties and tasks performed are in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Bachelor's degree in accounting with a minimum of four years experience, preferably in banking and with a CPA designation preferred.
