Position Title: Customer Service Associate

Salary Range: Starting from $10.27 per hour, commensurate with experience
Summary:
This full-time position requires availability to work weekday and Saturday shifts from 9:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.
Serves as the organization's primary contact with the public by providing exceptional customer service to the bank's customers. Completes a variety of clerical and customer service work relating to teller functions and customer account maintenance. Uses a thorough knowledge of Home Federal products and services to evaluate the additional financial needs of our customers and make all necessary cross-sell referrals to meet our customer's needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operations/Customer Account Maintenance:
- Accepts deposits and loan payments, verifies cash and endorsements and issues receipts to customers.
- Cashes checks within assigned limits and operational policy and procedure guidelines.
- Performs payoff transactions after verifying procedures with Supervisor.
- Prepares savings, checking and loan histories for branch personnel or customers.
- Balances cash drawer on a daily basis.
- Operates a computer to record all transactions.
- Issues official checks, money orders, traveler checks, etc.
- Closes accounts with proper documentation and approval by store management.
- Actively participates in monthly operational certification process.
- Takes ownership of customer problems and inquiries and responds quickly to the customer's satisfaction.
- Helps complete computer file maintenance, with proper documentation, as required.
- Constantly reviews and understands all Operational policies and procedures.
Sales/Customer Service:
- Actively participates in Home Federal Savings Sales Skills Development Program to help identify customer financial needs and cross-sell our products and services to meet those needs:
- Keeps informed on the benefits and features of all Home Federal Savings products and services.
- Meets and exceeds all stated individual and team sales referral goals.
- Prospects new and existing customers to cross-sell additional products and services.
- Actively participates in morning sales meetings, skills drills and role-plays.
- Develops lasting customer relationships.
- Identify customer needs and proactively recommend products and services to fill those needs.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- One year's related experience in cash handling, retail sales or customer service positions.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
- Ability to Assimilate and apply new job-related information.
- Basic skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; mainframe computer system; software programs.
- Intermediate typing and data entry skills to meet production needs of the position.
- Basic math skills; calculate interest and balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
- Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to solve basic problems and deal with technical problems involving multiple facets and variables.
- Effective organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties.
