Over the next several months, Home Federal Bank is implementing an enhanced online authentication system for eBanking users. This new security feature is a federally mandated enhancement that will add an additional layer of security to help protect you from fraud while you are banking online.

This security feature is often referred to as Multi-Factor Authentication (click for a detailed description). After researching many options to make this change as seamless to you as possible, we have selected a company that specializes in providing financial institutions with multi-factor authentication standards that meet the government requirements.

So what does this mean for you? As an eBanking user, you will be required to answer a one-time series of personal questions. When logging into eBanking from multiple computers, you may be prompted to answer certain questions to confirm your identity. Answers must match exactly to the ones you originally provided. Incorrect answers will prompt more questions or prevent you from continuing.

This enhanced security will also automatically record your typical eBanking access behavior to create an access signature. The signature will be used to authenticate you and validate your identity. In the case that your access signature does not match, eBanking will prompt you to answer additional questions to validate your identity.

If you have any additional questions about the enhanced online authentication system please feel free to call us at (208) 466-4634 or (800) 871-9505 or stop by your local branch.
