Eugene, OR—Mark Johnson, western Oregon region president for Home Federal Bank, is pleased to announce that Robin Obermire, Springfield Gateway branch manager, was recently honored with the 2012 Ambassador for Kids award from Sheldon High School in Eugene, Oregon. The award was presented at the school's annual Irish Night of Giving honors ceremony.
The Ambassador for Kids award honors Sheldon alumni and community members selected for their unselfish contributions and dedication to improving the lives of students, schools and their communities. Obermire received the award for her commitment to youth as well as her involvement for the past five years with the program.
"We are extremely proud of Robin and congratulate her on receiving this award and for being such a great supporter of this community" stated Johnson.
The majority of the proceeds from the Irish Night of Giving go to Sheldon Students in Life Crisis, a scholarship fund that provides financial assistance to high school students facing extreme life circumstances such as homelessness, foster care and poverty.
"The Students in Life Crisis fund really is an amazing program and has helped kids in really sad situations get help with basic needs so they can feel less stress while in school" stated Obermire.
