Target data breach
Home Federal Bank is committed to helping our clients protect their personal and financial information. We are reaching out to let you know of a card data breach recently reported by Target during the time period between November 27 and December 15, 2013.
Target has reported that it experienced unauthorized access to its systems resulting in the compromise of credit and debit card information. Although certain card account data may have been compromised in this incident, this does not mean that data related to your account was taken, or that fraud has occurred on your account.
HomeFed encourages all clients to actively review monthly and online statement information carefully, regardless of national news of this nature. Reviewing your bank transactions is a best practice under all circumstances, and HomeFed is pleased to provide clients free access to eBanking, our online banking system.
If you find suspicious transactions on your account, please notify our Client Services Team at (800) 888-7283 to report any unauthorized activity. All consumer debit cards and checking accounts are protected by Federal regulations in the event fraud does occur, which means you pay nothing for unauthorized purchases on your account when reported in a timely manner. For more information on security or what to do if you are the victim of fraud, please see our Cyber Security information at this link.
Your HomeFed team is closely monitoring the Target situation and we will take additional steps as necessary to address potential impact on our clients.
We wish you all the best during this holiday season.
