For Referrers

How do I make a referral?
Visit http://refer.myhomefed.com, click the "Invite your friends" button and follow the instructions. You'll be asked to provide your email address and other contact information so we can ensure you receive your reward when your friend completes the qualification requirements. Then, provide us with the names and email addresses of your friends, preview the message and send. After you send your email invitations, you'll also have an opportunity to share via social media. 

Is there a limit to how many friends I can refer or how many bonuses I can receive?
No. Refer as many friends as you like. For each friend that meets the qualification requirements, we'll deposit $50 into your HomeFed checking account (please allow up to four weeks for receipt of your bonus after all parties complete program requirements). 

What are the qualification requirements?

  • You must be 18 or older, and you need to have a HomeFed personal checking account in order to make a valid referral.
  • Your friend must not already have a HomeFed personal checking account at the time you refer them.
  • Your friend completes the online registration, prints their special coupon offer and takes it to any HomeFed branch to open their new personal checking account.
  • Your friend must use their check card 10 times within the first 60 days. Once these requirements are met, you both earn your reward.

Why do you need my email address and mailing address as part of the registration process?
We use your email address and mailing address to help ensure you receive your reward once your friend meets the qualification requirements. In addition, if you set up an account by entering a password, you'll be able to login with your email address as your username to check the status of each referral.  

How do I know if my friend has completed the requirements?
You'll be able to check the status of your referrals by logging in to the Referrals website. For privacy reasons, we can't disclose details about your friend's account; however, their status within the Referrals website will be updated when they complete certain qualification requirements along the way.

How long does it take before I receive my reward?
It depends on when your friend registers for the program. Once your friend is registered, they have 30 days to open their new checking account. They have 60 days in which to meet the remainder of the qualification requirements. We ask that you allow up to 4 weeks after that for the reward to appear in your checking account.  

For Referees

What are the qualification requirements that I must meet in order for my friend and me to receive our rewards?

  • You must be 18 or older, and you may not already have a personal HomeFed checking account.
  • Complete the online registration, print the special coupon offer and take it to any HomeFed branch to open your new personal checking account.
  • Use your check card 10 times within the first 60 days. Once these requirements are met, you and your friend both earn your reward.

Why do you need my email address and mailing address as part of the registration process?
We use your email address and mailing address to help ensure you and your friend both receive your rewards once you've met the qualification requirements. In addition, your email address will help us locate your unique coupon offer in the event you need to reprint your coupon.

I registered for the program but lost my coupon. Can I reprint it?
Yes! Visit http://refer.myhomefed.com and click the link that says "Need your invitation offer again?" (look underneath the blue box containing the "Invite your friends" button). Enter the email address you used when you registered for the program. The system will display your unique coupon offer and allow you to reprint it.

What account information do you share with my friend?
For privacy reasons, we won't disclose details about your account; however, your friend can view the status of your referral invitation within the Referrals website, and it will be updated when you complete certain qualification requirements along the way.

I received an invitation from two different friends. When I open my new checking account, will I receive a reward for both referrals? Will my friends both receive rewards?
You are eligible for only one reward offer as a referee, so you'll need to choose which offer you wish to redeem. Only the friend whose offer you choose to redeem will receive the corresponding bonus.

How long does it take before I receive my reward?

Referred Party must bring a print out of the special offer, showing the Unique Referral ID, to any branch of HomeFed; open a new personal checking account ($50 minimum to open account) and complete and settle a minimum of 10 check card transactions within 60 days of the account open date. No minimum balance required to receive bonus. May not be combined with other offers. The account type chosen may or may not be interest-bearing. Please allow up to four weeks for receipt of your bonus after all parties complete program requirements. Team Members and immediate family members of Home Federal Bank living in the same household are not eligible for bonus. Bonuses received are subject to IRS reporting on Form 1099-INT (Referred Party) or Form 1099-MISC (Referrer); recipient is responsible for any applicable taxes (please consult tax advisor).
